Look at those two faces to the left.
One little girl is the mother of the other.
Rachel (mother) is on the left. Arianna (daughter) is on the right.
See the resemblance?
As I look at both babies, I can't help but think about life when Rachel was my little baby and I was her mother. I had three older children at that time and as soon as Rachel learned to walk she went right to running, trying to keep up with her older siblings. She got bumps and bruises because of this. Most the time she was trying to walk so fast she was on the verge of falling. One time Rachel got into some rough and tumble play with Robby, Becky and Russ. Rachel ended up with a broken collar bone. I'll tell you that those crazy days gave this mother gray hair.

Arianna has a twin brother Eli, as you can see in the second photo. Two babies at once, but no older children. This means different challenges for their mother and father.

For me, it's nice just being Grandma.

Sunday

Found I have another follower on my blog today.
Hi Amanda.....That makes two.
Maybe more will come later.

Today it is dreary outside and I don't feel like doing anything. Guess I'll have to force myself away from the computer to get something done around the house. First, on the list is to mop up doggie prints that are tracked across the kitchen floor.

I'm also trying to force myself to edit my novel, Chicken Charlie's World. For some reason I'm blocking myself from finishing that story. Don't know why. Maybe lazy. Maybe I'm afraid I don't have the answers to its problems. Hmmmm. I'll consider it again today.

Planting

I'm not gardening much this summer because of my knee replacement. That doesn't mean that I don't yearn to plant.

My husband, Bob, bought me packets of lettuce seed, zinnia flower seeds and a mix of wild flower seeds. Today I put zinnias in the flower boxes by our green house. I also put in some lettuce there, too. The wind was so strong, I had to work close to the boxes so the seeds wouldn't blow away.

I'll wait for the wind to calm down before I plant some of the wildflower seeds in my wheel barrel planter by the old milk house. Might have to wait for tomorrow for that to happen.

Dogs

I can't figure out our two dogs some days.
I had 2 chews and gave one to each dog. Sunny immediately tried to get both, so I separated the dogs. One went on the porch, one on the back stairs. Neither chewed on their treat. They both acted as if I was punishing them.

I put the dogs together again and they both went for a rawhide chew again. Sunny took his and then sat very close to his brother. Booker started to take his own chew, but I could tell as soon as Sunny wanted it Booker would let him have his, too.

As soon as Sunny had both chews, Booker just whined and looked sad.
Sunny is the alpha dog here and can take away anything from his brother. Lucky for me, I can take anything away from both dogs without a problem. They never bite me.

Spring Rain

We have been looking for rain for a long time. Spring had been too dry here on Sunnybook Farm. Many times weather reports had rain heading our way. We watched and waited, only to have it disappear or go elsewhere. It's not fun getting a few drips when someone else gets an inch or two.

Finally, rain reached us the other day. It came down sweet and slow, allowing the moisture to soak into the dry ground. I wanted to dance around the yard with Bob in appreciation for the precipitation, but my husband didn't want to join me. Instead, we just sat on the porch and enjoyed the show.
